- Abstract
With the advance of technology, artificial intelligence is steadily permeating every facet of education. The era of digital intelligence presents new opportunities and challenges for the construction of College English course. Investigating new pathways for the development of the course is vital to enhancing the quality of teaching. Taking College English I as a case study, this paper explores how, under the Background of Digital Intelligence, the digital-plus-smart textbook New Progressive College English (Integrated Course) published by Shanghai Foreign Language Education Press and its companion WE Learn platform can be leveraged to design and implement a new blended-learning curriculum and teaching reform. Drawing on the quantitative results and student interviews, the College English I reform based on the WE Learn platform has yielded notable success. In the future, empowered by AI technologies, college English teaching and curriculum reform will usher in a new era that is more intelligent, personalized, and interactive.
