Abstract

The situation of the low employment in tourism college student and hotel high staff turnover rate are growing problem, previous studies have shown that self-efficacy and job preference are important determinants affecting the career choice. This study takes the tourism related majors who have internships or worked in hotels as the research objects to explore whether job preference has a mediating effect on self-efficacy and career choice. Using the quantitative research method, the formal questionnaire was distributed from January to February 2020, and 300 valid questionnaires were collected. The results show that there is a significant positive correlation among self-efficacy, job preference and career choice; meanwhile, job preference partially mediates the relationship between self-efficacy and career choice. Based on the research results and conclusions, this study puts forward suggestions and prospects.
