Abstract

This thesis selects the two representatives of two authors, The Grass Is Singing and Surfacing explore the ways to quest for self-identity of women in patriarchal society, basic methods and meanings of women’s self-realization. The two female protagonists are both victims in patriarchal society, but they choose different ways to quest for identity and have different endings. It aims to attract the public attention on feminist issues.
