- Abstract
Under the background of the “Great Ideological and Political Course,” the core issue faced by art and design professional courses is how value education can truly enter the process of professional learning, rather than remain at the periphery of the course. Compared with general knowledge-based courses, graduate professional courses in art and design are more field-based, practical, and generative. If ideological and political content is integrated only in an additive way, it easily causes a separation between value expression and professional training. Based on the practice of the course Art and Design Investigation, this paper takes the investigation of industrial heritage sites of the Third Front Construction, such as the former site of Chengdu Baiyao Factory, Dongjiao Memory, and Factory 401, as the entry point, and discusses how issues of historical cognition, social responsibility, and spatial renewal can be transformed into professional problems and design tasks that graduate students can enter. On this basis, it proposes a chain framework of “value–problem–task–field–expression–resource,” and provides a path for the ideological and political integration in art and design courses to shift from “external embedding” to “endogenous synergy.” Practice shows that when students actively discover the practical significance of historical fields in continuous investigation, comparison, and design transformation, and embed historical fragments into spatial narrative by means such as virtual simulation, ideological and political education can then be transformed into the internal driving force of their topic awareness, spatial judgment, and expression strategy.
