Abstract

Currently, the view on political performance of college counselors directly determines the orientation of their educational work, the way they perform their duties, and the actual effectiveness of their educational efforts. It is an important topic in the construction of the ideological and political education team in colleges and universities in the new era. However, under the influence of mechanisms such as quantitative assessment, evaluation for excellence and promotion, and leaving traces of work, some college counselors have problems with deviations in their view on political performance. For example, the view on political performance that is characterized by “seeking quick success and instant benefits” and “craving for greatness and success” in ideological and political work, student management, and professional research is one of the important reasons affecting the quality of teaching and learning. College counselors must establish a view on political performance centered on teaching quality. This is determined by the mission of colleges and universities themselves, is an inevitable requirement and fundamental purpose for colleges and universities to implement the Scientific Outlook on Development, and is also an inevitable choice to actively respond to the strong expectations of the people for colleges and universities. To this end, explore effective pathways for college counselors to practice a correct view on political achievements, guide them to abandon utilitarian work attitudes, adhere to the original aspiration of educating students, take “cultivating talents for the Party and the country” as the fundamental political achievement, and effectively improve the quality of ideological and political education in the new era.
