- Abstract
Under the background of the era of artificial intelligence, the reform of university mathematics courses is extremely urgent. This study delves deeply into the necessity, feasibility and construction path of the deep coupling of university mathematics and AI from the perspective of general education. Mathematics, as the cornerstone of AI algorithms, its coupling not only enhances the timeliness and practicality of mathematics courses, but also cultivates students’ critical thinking, computational thinking, data literacy and AI ethics awareness. This is highly consistent with the goal of general education to cultivate compound talents. The feasibility of coupling stems from the high degree of similarity between the knowledge systems of the two, and is supported by modern teaching technologies and policies. However, challenges such as the balance of teaching staff and content need to be addressed strategically. To achieve effective coupling, this paper proposes: establishing five guiding principles of generality, fundamentality, forward-looking, practicality, and ethics, as well as multi-dimensional training goals; By “AI-ization” to transform existing courses, adding AI mathematics modules, and developing interdisciplinary courses, the content is reshaped. Innovate teaching models such as project-based learning and programming practice, and build a hierarchical and progressive curriculum system. This research aims to provide theoretical guidance for university mathematics education to adapt to the development of the AI era and cultivate high-quality compound talents.
