Abstract

With the rapid development of society, artificial intelligence has become an indispensable part of society. However, the question of whether it is truly conducive to promoting students’ self-directed learning has received widespread attention. To date, artificial intelligence still faces the problem of insufficient technological, economic, or social adaptability. This article analyzes the application and role of different artificial intelligence technologies in assisting students’ self-directed learning, and concludes that the development of related technologies provides strong assistance for assisting students’ self-directed learning. The rapid screening and integration of information by artificial intelligence, multiple rounds of questioning, real-time feedback, and the use of virtual reality (VR) have significantly improved students’ self-directed learning. Based on this, this article proposes the following suggestions: Artificial intelligence needs further optimization in technology, and the issue of user privacy and security should not be taken lightly. Secondly, in the trend of collaborative development between artificial intelligence and education, the improvement of the educational environment can be addressed through school enterprise cooperation to address the issue of “knowledge payment”. In addition, artificial intelligence needs to continue to enrich the coverage of resources and provide students with a diversified knowledge supply.
