Abstract

Learning motivation is a key factor influencing students’ academic success. This study aims to analyze the determinants of students’ learning motivation in an integrative manner between the school environment and teacher performance, as well as to determine the magnitude of each variable’s contribution to students’ learning motivation in Cluster 03 Gamping, Sleman. This research is a quantitative study using a survey method. The population in this study consisted of all fifth-grade students of public elementary schools in Cluster 03 Gamping, Sleman, with a sample of 110 students selected using proportional random sampling technique. Data collection techniques included questionnaires and documentation, while data analysis was conducted using multiple linear regression. The results of the study indicate that there is a significant positive effect of the school environment on learning motivation with a probability value of 0.000 < 0.05; there is also a significant positive effect of teacher performance on students’ learning motivation with a probability value of 0.000 < 0.05. Furthermore, there is a significant positive simultaneous effect of the school environment and teacher performance on students’ learning motivation in public elementary schools in Cluster 03 Gamping, Sleman, with a probability value of 0.000 < 0.05. The contribution of this study is to serve as a consideration in improving the quality of a conducive school environment and encouraging the enhancement of teacher performance in order to increase students’ learning motivation.
