Abstract

China has experienced rapid urbanization stimulated by the marketization in the country. Now facing a series of new challenges. In this paper, we use statistic and comparative analysis and put forward that metropolitanization is a necessary stage of urban development; under the circumstances of China’s current industrialization, metropolitanization emerges as the primary direction in China’s transitioning urbanization. This paper suggests certain measures for boosting metropolitanization and urbanization transition in China.
